PNRA issues operating licences to Chashma Nuclear Power Plants
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) has issued Operating Licences (OL) to Chashma Nuclear Power Plants Unit-3 and Unit-4 (C-3 and C-4) on Wednesday.
According to details, the licences were granted after completion of regulatory review and assessment process of the licensing submissions and satisfactory resolution of all regulatory issues while each unit was designed to produce 340 Megawatts of electricity, said a press release.
The licensing process of C-3 and C-4 was completed in accordance with PNRA applicable regulations and international safety standards.
The site evaluation, design, management system, commissioning and operation including the aspects of radiation protection, emergency preparedness and waste management of both units have been evaluated in the light of PNRA regulations.
