It is a bitter truth that Pakistan’s imports are much higher than its exports. This economic imbalance has had devastating effects on the national economy, with inflation and enhanced income disparity on rise. The federal government has announced a few export packages in the past as well, and the statistics show that these incentives are being met with favourable outcomes. Since January 2017 – when the export package was first announced – at least a 13 percent increase has been observed in the country’s exports.
Current reports state that the federal government is working on a new package to facilitate exporters while focusing on the promotion of the trade of value-added products. It is hoped that the new export package will get positive results and the country’s exports will be increased substantially – minimising the unavoidable gap between exports and imports in the shortest possible time.
