LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab’s Strategic Reforms Unit hosted a dinner in honour of Pakistan women’s national cricket team on their phenomenal success and presented them with awards.
The reception was hosted on behalf of the CM Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif. In the ceremony, Director General SRU, Salman Sufi, applauded the heroic efforts of the Team and expressed his heartiest congratulations to Team on their recent victory in Sri Lanka. Further, Sufi distributed shields to all team members.
The SRU expressed interest in establishing a long term collaboration with the team and offered to support on various platforms. The SRU also invited the team to represent the Women – on – Wheels Campaign (WOW) and take part in upcoming mega rally.
Souvenirs for WOW were also distributed among the team members. The victory by the Team symbolizes women in Pakistan are no less than their male counterparts and can excel in all fields of life. It highlights the strength and resilience of Pakistani women. The dinner was attended by the some of the key women rights activists including Ms. Afia Salam. Ms. Salam also encouraged the team on their heartening efforts.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister, momentous initiatives have been taken for women empowerment in Punjab to contribute towards a society where both genders are considered equals. Chief Minister’s SRU has launched various projects to empower and protect women.
