High powered Russian team to visit Pakistan for investment
ISLAMABAD: In the aftermath of shrinking interest of USA in Pakistan, a high powered Russian delegation will be visiting Islamabad to explore options for increasing investments in banking and other infrastructure projects worth billions of dollars.
As the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is heading towards completion of first phase where Pakistan received investments in energy sector as major chunk now other countries have also started taking keen interest for exploring increasing opportunities in Pakistan.
“A big delegation of Russian side is expected to visit Pakistan soon as they plan to purchase one bank, enhancing their participation in modernising rail infrastructure and participation in telecom sector,” said the official sources and added that Pakistan could exploit its strategic locations and provision of warm water in a big way but the real benefits could only be enhanced by improving investment climate and overcoming structural bottlenecks in terms of reducing the cost of doing business in Pakistan.
