Doctor’s ‘negligence’ takes infant’s life
CHUNIAN: A three-month-old baby girl Thursday died through the alleged negligence of a doctor at the THQ Hospital here. Rauf, a government employee, brought his sick daughter Hania to the hospital. Dr Samreen allegedly gave a syringe to an untrained ward boy to inject into the infant. But as soon as he injected the syringe, Hania’s condition started deteriorating. Later, due to medicine overdose, she died on the spot. Her parents and relatives strongly protested the alleged negligence and carelessness of the doctor and ward boy. No FIR has been registered till filing of this report. Hospital MS M Irshad admitted the carelessness of the doctor and untrained ward boy. EDO Health Abdul Majeed said the accused will also be punished. The victim heirs demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif take quick action against the negligent staff.
