ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday announced Ramazan Relief Package ahead of beginning of the holy month.
Under the package, 19 daily use items will be available at lower rates than the market at the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) outlets countrywide. These items include flour, sugar, cooking oil, ghee, grams, basen (gram flour), dates, rice, squashes, milk and tea.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The PML-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had earlier asked the federal government to facilitate the people during the month. The package will provide Rs1,733 million subsidy.
