Thumping win for Lucky Star
ISLAMABAD: Lucky Star turned the tables on experience and favourite Asif Memorial with a thumping six-wicket victory in the East Zone ICA Championship match at the Bhutto Ground Tuesday. Put into bat first Lucky Star were restricted to 257 for 5 in 36 overs with Shoaib Khaliq (78) and Mohammad Irfan (55) getting fifties in the process. It was then left to Mohammad Nazir (75) and Hamza Arshad (71 not out) to milk Lucky Star bowlers on their way to achieve a creditable six wickets win that knocked Asif memorial out of the tournament. Such was their aggression they smashed Ali Imran for 33 runs in just 3 overs he bowled before he was taken out of attack.
Scores: Asif Memorial 257 for 5 in 36 overs (Shoaib Khaliq 78, M Irfan 55, Raheel Qaider 2-58). Lucky Star 258 for 4 in 32 overs (M Nazir 75, Hamza Arshad 71 not out, M Owais 1-13).
