ISLAMABAD: NAB Chairman Justice Javed Iqbal (retd) has suspended deputy director NAB, Lahore, Ramzan on the charges of alleged inefficiency and negligence in performance of official duties.
Ramzan has been suspended with immediate effect, said a press release issued here. An inquiry has been ordered for completion of all codal formalities including opportunity to Ramzan to defend charges against him as per law.
A formal inquiry has also been started against Kashif Mumtaz Gondal deputy director Sukkur, who was suspended on the direction of NAB chairman for three months on the alleged charges of misconduct.
Moreover, on the direction of chairman, NAB had proceeded against 85 officers of NAB. Out of 85 officers, 23 were awarded major penalty of removal from service while 32 officers were awarded minor penalties. NAB chairman said self-accountability is very necessary towards adoption of ‘accountability for all’.
