No light at the end of the tenure

In the last quarter of 2017, PML-N leaders and ministers happily claimed that the federal government had ended loadshedding. Unfortunately, the menace of the power crisis resurfaced in 2018 as soon as the weather changed a little. The authorities then claimed that only those areas are facing power outages where line losses and electricity theft was high. These statements are not only confusing, but also raise a few questions.

First, why would people who pay their bills regularly be penalised for the fault of those who disobey the law? Is it not the responsibility of power supply companies and the authorities to collect bills by adopting strong measures and new technologies such as smart meters? It is hoped that the prime minister will take notice of the serious issue.

Since last month, power supply in Wah Cantt is too insufficient and residents have been unable to perform their daily household activities. Loadshedding brings the lives of people to a standstill. In addition, when power is restored, the voltage is too low and often damages electric appliances.

Because of persistent power outages, the industrial sector has been affected. Also, without electricity, students cannot concentrate on their studies. The authorities concerned should look into this issue and take steps to end the suffering of the people.
