CHIEF of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that terrorism and corruption has ruined the country and the people like farmers, labourers, clerks and shopkeepers, for whom the country was achieved, were committing suicides due to poverty and hunger.
According to a press release issued here Sunday, Dr Tahirul Qadri, in his message on Pakistan Day, said injustice was the root cause of poverty which led to terrorism in the country, adding that the ruling elite of the country had not done anything for the people of this country after the passage of over 65 years since its independence.
He said 23rd March, 1940 was the day when all the leaders got together under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, to achieve the goal of free and independent country for the Muslims of the Sub-Continent so that they could spend their lives according to their beliefs and religion. He said minorities had also played a key role in achieving this goal as they were assured to live free and practice their lives according to their religion. PAT chief said that now all eyes were on army that had started a decisive battle against the enemies of the country, adding that after purging the country of terrorism and extremism, the nation would see a bright future in the days to come. He said the days of corrupt rulers and corrupt practices were numbered and everyone who had committed any wrongdoing in the past would have to face the law soon.
