The annual examinations for Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) part I and II will be held from April 24 under the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK).
According to the BIEK, around 194,8 24 candidates of pre-engineering, pre-medical, general science, home economics and medical technology will participate in the exams. The process for 11 and 12 graders will be ending on May 17.
The board officials have formed 221 examination centres across the city, of which 64 centres have been declared sensitive. Talking to the media, BIEK Chairman Prof Inam Ahmed said the board had completed all arrangements to conduct transparent examinations.
The board has also sent letters to the additional chief secretary for universities, the secretary for colleges, the Karachi commissioner, the director general of the Sindh Rangers and other authorities concerned, seeking their support for arranging peaceful examinations.
Prof Ahmed said the board had constituted a monitoring cell and vigilance teams by inducting senior professor and teachers. The students, parents and teachers could register their complaints if they had information about cheating material providers or the copy culture at any exam centre.
He said that Section 144 would be enforced near and at the exam centres. The owners of photocopy shops would be not allowed to run their shops during the exam hours. He warned the students that they would not be allowed to bring their mobile phones or use other unfair means at the exams centres.
