Meenakhel elders meet ahead of poll to show unity
LAKKI MARWAT: Around three months ahead of general elections, the elders of Meenakhel tribe on Thursday met to express unity.
Politically affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the Meenakhel elders told a press conference at the residence of former provincial minster late Anwar Kamal Khan that there were no differences among them and that they were united for the cause of serving people.
Notables and political elite from different clans and sub-tribes were also present on the occasion.
“Despite strong and consistent affiliation with PML-N the party did not spend a single penny on the uplift of backward Lakki Marwat district during last five years,” said head of Meenakhel tribe and former federal secretary Akhtar Munir Khan. He said that the gathering was enough to end all kinds of propaganda being spread by some elements regarding differences among elders of Meenakhel tribe.
“We are the heirs of political dynasty of former Senate chairman Khan Habibullah Khan who has a lot of services on his credit for people’s wellbeing and development of Marwat area,” he maintained.
