PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (NAB KP) arrested accused Qazi Muhammad Anwar, owner of Qazi Trade Centre, Peshawar, for his involvement in cheating public at large, fleecing innocent people of millions of rupees.
A press release said accused Qazi Muhammad Anwar and others in the garb of fake construction business of Qazi Trade Centre collected money from innocent people on the promise to handover them their respective developed expensive shops in Qazi Trade Centre Plaza situated on Ring Road near Pishtakhara Chowk, Peshawar.
The accused persons advertised the project widely to attract investment in the business without having ownership of the land identified for the plaza nor having NOC from Peshawar Development Authority (PDA). Due to prime location of the plaza, scores of innocent people invested millions of rupees with the accused. At the end, the accused persons neither handed over possession of the shops nor returned the deposited amount.
The accused will be produced before the Accountability Court for obtaining his physical remand into NAB custody.
