DHAKA: Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim will miss the remainder of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), the franchise-based four-day competition, with an ankle injury that is set to rule him out of action for the next three weeks. Mushfiqur scored a brilliant century for table-toppers BCB North during their last match but will miss the crucial encounter against second placed East Zone in the fifth round, scheduled at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium from April 17. Mushfiqur sustained the injury while playing football during warm-ups a day after his hundred. Mushfiqur joins a growing injury list of national players with several cricketers going through rehabilitation to recover from their respective injuries. All-rounder Mehedy Hasan was diagnosed with labral tear on his right shoulder and board physicians are trying to heal it in a conservative way with injection and physiotherapy with surgery seen only as a last option.
