PESHAWAR: The Capital City Police seized more ammunition than any other district in the province while Mansehra remained on top in recovery of narcotics during the first quarter of the current year, official statistics said on Monday.
According to an official of the KP Police, Peshawar stood first followed by Abbotabad and Lakki Marwat in recovery of arms in the first quarter of the year. In recovery of narcotics, Mansehra remained on top, followed by Peshawar and Nowshera.
Similarly, Peshawar nabbed more proclaimed offenders, followed by Mardan and Charsadda during the current year. According to the data, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police rounded up 5622 proclaimed offenders during the first quarter of the current year while, in the previous year, 4468 POs were arrested.
In narcotics, during previous year 3931 kg charas was recovered which shot up to 5424 kg during 2018. The seized heroin remained 95 kilograms more than the stuff recovered during the same period last year. Besides, police recovered 8657 arms during the first quarter of the previous year while 9654 arms were seized in first three month of 2018.
