671 police officers pass out from Sihala college

Rawalpindi: The passing-out ceremony of 357 sub inspectors and 314 assistant sub inspectors held at the Police Training College, Sihala. Additional Inspector General of Police Training Tariq Masood Yasin was the chief guest, while Commandant Sihala Police Training College Caption (r) Ihsan Tufail and other senior officers were also present on the occasion. Eighteen MPhil, 28 engineers, 55 law graduates, 6 veterinary doctors and 221 MA, MBA, MSC and MS and other graduates are included in the passing-out police officer.

The police officers took the oath to ensure supremacy of law and protect rights and self-respect of the citizens. Addressing the ceremony, AIGP Tariq Masood Yasin said the Punjab Police have used modern technology to change the thana culture: front desks have been set up, 8787 police complaint number, police record management system, crime record management system and Safe City projects are included in these measures. He asked the passing-out police officers to work with honesty and dedication, and always ignore personal interests and pride. He said the Sihala Police Training College has the distinguished status that it provides training not only to law enforcement agencies of the county but police officers from foreign countries also get training here.

Commandant Sihala Police College Caption (r) Ihasan Tufail said 86,000 police officers have got training from here while apart from Punjab Police, officers of police of others three provinces, Railways Police, Motorway Police, NAB, FIA, Federal Capital Police, and Customs also get training here. He said the police officers have been given training of intelligence by ISI, IB and CTD. Shields and prizes were given to newly recruited police officers who showed excellent performance during training.
