8 die as Jeep plunges into ravine

BALAKOT: Eight people, including five female, died on Friday when a Jeep plunged into a gorge while three persons were seriously injured.
According to details, a Jeep, coming from a far-flung area of Balakot Sanjora to
Balakot, plunged into a ravine due to poor condition of the road where five persons died at the spot and three other died on the way to hospital.
Locals rescued the injured and recovered the bodies and shifted them to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Balakot, where after initial procedure, the patients were referred to Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad.
Eight persons, including Jameel, Mubashar, Shahzad, Shameem, Saima, Maroofa and Sajida bibi, died and Ejaz Noreen and Matial Bibi were injured.Locals appealed to the district government and politicians to carpet the road which caused deaths of dozens of people every year.
