LHC orders removal of alterations to 135-year-old fountain

BAHAWALPUR: Division bench of the Lahore High Court (Bahawalpur bench) comprising Justice Ebadur Rehman Khan Lodhi and Justice Mehmood Ahmad Bhatti Thursday ordered removal of all alterations made by the TMA city and district administration 135-year-old historic Fountain installed at Chowk Fawara Bahawalpur till 5pm and sought compliance report.
The court ordered while hearing the contempt of court proceedings against DCO Bahawalpur Imran Sikandar Baloch, Imrana Ajmal ADC/Administrator TMA Bahawalpur city and Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur Rao Tasleem Akhtar.
The DCO assured the court to comply with its orders. Advocate Mian Faiz ul Hassan had challenged the alterations in the court.
After the orders, the district administration functionaries led by AC Rao Tasleem Akhtar started demolishing of the altercations.
