PESHAWAR: The brother of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser was booked for misbehaving with the vice-chancellor of University of Swabi on Thursday, sources said.
The sources said that the Vice-Chancellor Dr Noor Jehan sacked a university employee, identified as Shuja Waseem last week over some issue. “The employees of the university staged a peaceful protest at its Anbar Campus to demand the reinstatement of their sacked colleague”, an official said.
The sources said that Adnan, brother of the Speaker, Asad Qaiser, went to the University to talk to the vice-chancellor about the reinstatement of the sacked employee. “The vice-chancellor did not pay heed to the speaker’s brother. It infuriated him and he exchanged harsh words with her,” the official said.
Meanwhile, the personal assistant to the vice-chancellor told The News that the first information report (FIR) had already been lodged at the Lahor Police Station against Adnan for misbehaving with Dr Noor Jehan.
When contacted, the police spokesman Liaqat Ali denied the registration of an FIR in the case.He said that the police officials including DPO Sajjad Khan and the DSP were still at the university to try and settle the issue between the vice chancellor and the Speaker’s brother, Adnan. It may be added here that Adnan had earlier been booked for misbehaving with an
assistant commissioner four months ago.
