PML-N, Senate chairman move to mend fences

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani have established contacts for smooth sailing of the upcoming Senate session, starting from Monday.

According to parliamentary sources, despite the strict stance of PML-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the parliamentary leadership of PML-N desires for having better working relationship with other parliamentary parties for smooth sailing of proceedings of the Upper House of Parliament.

The sources said Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani recently contacted the PPP, JUI-F, National Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, AND, MQM-P and PML-N and during these contacts he stressed strengthening of parliament for the democratic system.

Parliamentary observers believe that with contacts of political parties with the Senate chairman, the proceedings of Senate session will be held smoothly.
