Minor hit to death
LAHORE: A six-year-old girl was crushed to death by a speeding rickshaw in Raiwind police limits on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Aqsa. She was trying to cross the road when a speeding rickshaw hit her from behind. Locals of the area caught rickshaw driver Noor Yasin and handed him over to police. The rickshaw was also impounded. A case has been registered against the rickshaw driver. Police removed the body to morgue.
Rangers: Pakistan Rangers Officers from Pakistan Rangers Academy, Mandi-Bahauddin visited PPIC3 center, Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) Lahore. The delegation was comprised of 34 officers from different flanks of Rangers (Punjab) and their instructors. The batch was appraised of functions and structure of the PSCA project by the Operations Commander SP Mian Rashid Hadayat. The delegation appreciated the initiative. The Rangers officers were awarded with souvenirs from the management of PSCA.

UoE: University of Education (UoE) Thursday held a meeting with heads of colleges affiliated with the university.
While addressing the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Dr Rauf-i-Azam said imparting education was a sacred duty and should not be taken as a business. He said with self-accountability, and better communication the standard of education could be improved. Different proposals were submitted by the affiliated colleges during the meeting. The VC assured them to provide assistance. University’s Controller of Examinations Dr Ijaz Ahmad advised the affiliated colleges to provide best faculty, library and other facilities to the students. Registrar Dr Manzoom Akhtar was also present on the occasion.
