Call for legislation based on vision of Quaid, Iqbal

LAHORE: Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal wanted to run Pakistan’s political democratic system according to the golden rules of Islam.

"We have been experimenting an imposed system for the last 70 years, which has made our country’s system worse", said speakers at a monthly meeting organised by Hamdard Foundation on the topic of “Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s Political Statement and the Current Situation” at a local hotel.

Bushra Rehman, Absar Abdul Ali, Qayyum Nizami, Ahmad Awais, Shoaib Mirza, Muhammad Riaz, Khalida Jamil, Umar Zaheer Mir, Major ® Sadeeq Rehan, Brigadier ® Hamid Saeed Akhtar, Samar Jameel Khan, Jameel Naz, Altaf Qamar, Dr Tariq Shareef Pirzada and Shaista S Hassan were among the participants in the event.

They said it was compulsory to do all the legislation according to the vision of Quaid and Iqbal to make our country prosperous. For this, it is important that all the elections should be conducted transparently and all the representatives should test the candidate on moral values also, they said, adding quota should be announced for people from all the fields of life.

According to Qayyum Nizami, a statement of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah said, "Minorities would be treated with justice and respect in Pakistan. They will feel more secure in Pakistan than in India. Every citizen of Pakistan will get rights without any discrimination of caste, creed or sect.”

Nizami said, "Quaid e Azam had always said that corruption and bribe were poison for a nation. All the decisions should be made on merit, and government officials were real workers of a nation. Armed forces should not interfere in the politics of the country. They should guard the borders. Quaid e Azam wanted to make Pakistan the hub of science and latest technology."
