Sindh Amateur Golf tees off today
KARACHI: Over 140 players will feature in the Sindh Amateur Golf Championship which tees off here at the Karachi Golf Club on Friday (today).
Pakistan’s rising star Ahmed Baig leads the list of amateurs competing in the three-day championship hosted by the Sindh Golf Association (SGA).A total of 80 amateurs will take part in the main competition. Peshawar’s Taimoor Khan will be defending his title in the category. He has been invited by the SGA, which will be bearing all the expanses of his trip.
Other leading players include Zohaib Asif, Ahmed Rehman, Robin Bagh, Sain Shazli and Junaid Irfan. “We have made all the arrangements for another successful edition of the Sindh Golf Championship”, said Asad I.A. Khan, president SGA.
In the seniors’ category, Asad himself will be defending his title. His cousin Umar Khan Bangash will be a strong contender for the crown. Other prominent players taking part in the seniors’ event include Sohail K Rana, Lt Col Zahid Iqbal and Sajid Sharif.A total of 30 seniors will be taking part in the event. The veterans’ event will be played over 80 holes with a total of 30 players participating in it.
