KARACHI: Saad Ali hit a glorious 101 with 12 fours and a six to enable K-Electric to gain a huge lead against Customs when they reached 470-8 in their first innings in response to their rivals’ 197 on the second day of their third round Group A match of Patron’s Trophy Grade II here at UBL Ground No1 on Wednesday. Behram Khan (59), Majid Khan (51) and Javed Mansoor (51) struck fine fifties. Ramiz Shehzad and Ghulam Mudassir got three wickets each. Customs reached 113-2 in their second innings with Zubair Khan scoring 63 with 12 fours. They need 160 more runs to avoid an innings defeat. Here at NBP Sports Complex, Navy secured 179 runs lead when they bowled Medicam out for 254 in their first innings after posting 433-5. Shahzar Hassan scored 88, which featured ten fours. Nadeem Shehzad belted 55 with 11 fours. Arif Khan made 52 with four fours. Abdul Latif and Nasir Awais captured four wickets each. Navy were 111-4 in their second innings, having an overall lead of 290. At Model Town Greens Ground, Lahore, Brighto Paints gained 262 runs lead when they posted 352-6 declared in response to Candyland’s first innings total of 90. Akbar Badshah made 108 with six fours. Haris Nazar hit 60 with four fours. Faisal Javed picked four wickets. Candyland were 55-1 in their second innings at close. They need 208 more runs to avoid an innings defeat. Face Fresh were reeling at 177-7 in response to Income Tax’s first innings score of 260 at Stags Ground, Lahore, in a Group D outing. At LCCA Ground, Lahore, Dollar East were in deep trouble against Khayaban-e-Amin. After being forced to follow on they were 52-1 in their second innings. In response to Khayaban-e-Amin’s 378-9, Dollar East perished for 170 in the first innings. At Khayaban-e-Amin Ground, Lahore, Higher Education Commission posted 391-6 in their first innings against Services Industries after the first day’s play was washed out due to rain. Services Industries were ten without loss at stumps.
