PAC panel directs sharing of data about fisheries

ISLAMABAD: A sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Tuesday directed the provinces to share the data with regard to fisheries and also about the licences for fisheries with the federal government. A meeting of the sub-committee was held with the chair of its Convener Dr Arif Alvi in which the audit paras related to Department of Fisheries were examined. The Sindh livestock secretary told the panel that approximately 3,500 fish farms in Sindh and around new were planned on 135,000 acres of land and new packages were also been planned also for encouraging the fish farm. He told the sub-committee that new fish farms were being planned in the districts of Ghotki, Qambar and Kandhkot.
