KHAR: The leaders of political parties and residents of various areas in Bajaur Agency on Saturday took out a protest rally against the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) officials for adopting delaying tactics in unblocking Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC) of many people. Led by Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party local leader Malik Asghar Khan, Imran Arman, Nasir Khan and others, the protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against NADRA officials. The protesters walked through various roads and gathered outside the Bajaur Press Club. Speaking on the occasion, they said that around 2,300 CNIC were blocked in Bajaur Agency and the NADRA officials were applying delaying tactics to issue the blocked identity cards. “A committee had been formed to resolve the issue but the residents were still deprived of their CNIC,” Nasir Khan said, adding that the inhabitants of the region were facing severe hardships due to the blockade of the ID cards. They asked the government to unblock their CNIC or else they would launch protest campaign against the NADRA.
