Youth Olympics to be held in October

ISLAMABAD: The 3rd Youth Olympics are scheduled to be held in Buenos Aires (Argentine) from October 1-12 this year.

The Asian hockey qualifiers for the Youth Olympics are to be organised in Bangkok from April 25-29.Top two teams from these qualifiers will represent Asia at the Youth Olympics.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has named 51 probables for the initial camp for the Youth Olympics, starting from April 2 at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad.

The players have been directed to report to national junior team coach Kamran Ashraf at the Allama Iqbal hostel, Pakistan Sports Complex, by the afternoon of April 1.It is pertinent to mention that the hockey event of the Youth Olympics will be played on 5-a-side format.

Hence, the PHF has planned a 5-a-side tournament for the camp trainees at the newly established Shahnaz Sheikh Hockey Stadium in Rawalpindi. The tournament will be held alongside with the training camp.
