Armed forces to get all resources for strong defence: PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Monday assured the armed forces that the nation will continue to provide them with necessary resources for robust defence of the country’s borders.
He expressed enormous confidence in the armed forces’ defence preparedness to neutralise and defeat complete spectrum of threats and challenges. Abbasi visited the Joint Staff Headquarters accompanied by Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan. He was briefed on the armed forces’ operational preparedness.
The premier paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the armed forces, especially the martyrs. Earlier, upon arrival at the JS Headquarters, Abbasi was received by Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan and Chairman JCSC General Zubair Mahmood Hayat.
A tri-services contingent presented the ‘Guard of Honour’ to the prime minister. It was the prime minister’s maiden visit to the Joint Staff Headquarters where the security ambiance was discussed thoroughly by the participants of briefing.
