11 men charged with various crimes held

The paramilitary force has arrested 11 men facing charges of various crimes and seized a huge cache of weapons from them.

The spokesman for the Sindh Rangers said on Saturday paramilitary soldiers conducted a raid in PIB Colony and arrested Umair Ahmed.

Ahmed was allegedly involved in kidnappings for ransom.

In a raid carried out in Zaman Town, three men, identified as Abid, Mohammad Alam and Furqan, were arrested for involvement in robberies and other heinous crimes.

Four more accused -- Abdullah alias Babu, Abdullah Aslam Parikh, Waseem Masih and Kashif Masih -- were arrested in PIB Colony. They were wanted in street crime cases.

Rangers’ personnel also apprehended Mohammad Ayyaz, Rizwan and Mohammad Ayyaz alias Babu in Malir Colony and Zaman Town. The two were operating a drug den in their areas.

Weapons, looted items and narcotics were said to have been seized from the possession of the arrested men, who were later handed over to police for further legal proceedings.

Paramilitary soldiers conducted an intelligence- based raid in Liaquatabad behind the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London’s Unit Office 166 and seized a huge cache of weapons.

The weapons were a light-machine gun, a sub-machine gun, a 7mm rifle, four 30-bore pistols with six magazines and bullets of different calibres.
