CHAKDARA: Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Bakht Baidar announced resignation from the basic membership of the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) over the issuance of show-cause notice from the party chairman.
Speaking at a public gathering in Gulabad, supporters of Bakht Baidar said that Aftab Sherpao issued the show-cause notice to him because he needed a scapegoat to hide his own weaknesses.
Malik Faqir Khan, Ibrar Bacha, Muhammad Omar Khan and others also spoke on the occasion.They said that the QWP chairman should have taken action against Ibrar Tanoli.Bakht Baidar said that he would not have gone to court over the allegation of Imran Khan had he been involved in corrupt practices.
“It was Sherpao’s attitude that forced Pervez Khattak, Senator Ahmed Hassan Khan, Najamuddin, Ghani Dad Khan and scores of party workers to leave the party,” he claimed.He said that Aftab Sherpao knew who voted against the party candidate but he could not take action against them as they were industrialists and landlords.Bakht Baidar’s supporters sought an unconditional apology from Aftab Sherpao or threatened to quit party.Bakht Baidar announced resignation from the provincial assembly and party.
