Real democracy

The government has been playing delaying tactics with regard to holding local government elections. It seems the rulers loathe the idea of giving power at the grassroots level.
People can reap real benefits of democracy if the government is accountable, becomes more responsive to people’s needs, allows greater participation of the masses in the decision-making process, implements rule of law and embraces a forward approach to development.
