Ashiyana Housing scam: NAB summons Saad and Salman
LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Railways Minister Kh Saad Rafique and his brother Kh Salman Rafique, who is Punjab minister for specialised health, on March 22 and 26 respectively to question them about the ongoing investigation into the Ashiyana Housing Society’s project.
According to a NAB official, Saad and Salman have been summoned for questioning them about their role if there is any in the Paragon Housing Society. Both the brothers have also been asked to bring relevant record if there is any with them, the official said.
It is pertinent to mention that LDA’s former director general Ahad Cheema and other senior officials of LDA, Shahid Shafiq of Bismillah Engineering, senior retired and serving officials of Pakistan Land Development Company (PLDC) have already been arrested by the NAB during the investigation of Rs16 billion embezzlement in the housing project so far. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and premier’s secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad have also recorded their statements relating to the Ashiyana Housing Scheme scam.
