More rain forecast

Scattered rain was witnessed in the city on Tuesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.

The rain started to hit the city since morning and was reported in the localities of Johar Town, Faisal Town, Gulberg, Garden Town, Muslim Town, Ichhara, FC College, Jail Road, Anarkali, Dharampura and etc. The rain disrupted traffic, which was already moving at snail’s pace due to route diversions because of the PSL match at Gadaffi Stadium. Met officials said a westerly wave is affecting central parts of the country and may persist in northeastern parts of the country until today (Wednesday). They predicted that mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir. Rainfall was recorded in other cities, including Parachinar 15mm, DI Khan 01mm, Peshawar, Kakul, Risalpur trace, Ziarat, Kalat 12mm, Barkhan 08mm, Quetta 03mm, Zhob 02mm, Panjgur, Dalbandin 01mm, Nokkundi Trace, Toba Tek Singh 03mm, Faisalabad, Jhang, Layyah 02mm, Kamra, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Kasur, Kot Addu, Noorpur Thal, Sahiwal, Sargodha City, Mianwali Trace, Jacobabad 03mm, Larkana, Rohri, Mohen-jo-Daro Trace. Met officials said that Tuesday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Astore where mercury dropped down to -01°C while in Lahore, maximum temperature was 24°C, minimum was 16.5°C and humidity level was 39 percent.
