Karachi University forms anti-harassment body for every department
The management of Karachi University (KU) has formed a Harassment Watch Committee in every department of the varsity. The committees have been set up in accordance with the anti-harassment law and will function with complete autonomy.
The decision was announced by KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ajmal in a meeting of chairpersons and directors of the university’s departments and institutes. As per details, a three-member ‘Harassment Watch Committee’ will function in every department, institute and centre. The committee members would be the chairperson or director and two senior most professors (male and female). A complaint box would also be placed at the vice chancellor’s secretariat for submission of complaints against any form of harassment.
