Nothing is impossible if we put our mind to it. This was proved by the incumbent chief minister of Punjab who was tasked with ensuring foolproof security for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final held in Lahore last year. And now the city is gearing up for two more PSL 2018 semi-finals. So why is holding a Basant festival in Lahore a problem? Is it a more unachievable task than hosting a cricket match? Or is our present Punjab government uninterested in catching those who manufacture metal wires?
The city of Lahore is at its best these days – it always is during spring. The only thing missing is the traditional kite festival which we grew up participating in. It is sad that our new generation is missing out on the most important festival of the city. I urge the CM to restore the festival before he runs for another election.
