Thai lady wins PGF Amateur Golf

ISLAMABAD: Miss Sarunchana Rattanasin (Thailand) reign supreme, winning the Third PGF Ladies Amateur Golf Championship that concluded here at the Islamabad Golf Course on Sunday.

The lady from Thailand had an aggregate score of six over 222 to win the gross category of the event played over three days. She set the tone of the competition with a resounding five under 67 gross on the opening day Friday but could not maintain the tempo for the rest of two rounds, carding an aggregate score of six over for 54 holes.

Just a stroke behind was her countrywomen Mrs Tantita Aungusee who finished the three-day proceedings with seven over 223 to emerge as runner-up in gross category.

Bangladesh’s Sonia Akhtar returned with third position in gross event carding 24 over 240 for three rounds.In the ladies net category, Humna Amjad (Kamra) earned the distinction by winning the event with an aggregate score of 12 under 204.

The twelve stroke handicapper carded 240 gross over three days to get a score of 204 net. She was followed by Zebun Nisa for runner-up prize. She carded 223 net the same score that was achieved by Bangladesh’s Liza Akhtar for third spot.

Nagmana Atif won the silver category by carding 144 gross over two days. The net category of the event was captured by Shahzadi Gulfam with the score of 146.Dr Sania Nishtar was the guest of honour and distributed prizes among the winners.
