PSL final fever grips cricket fans
ISLAMABAD: A wave of enthusiasm and excitement seems to have taken over people from across Pakistan and abroad for the highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) final
to be played in Karachi on March 25.
The PSL fever has gripped the nation once again in the country as Pakistanis love cricket and they find different ways to show support to their team from putting statuses on social media websites, to wearing their favourite team’s T-shirt to face painting and much more.
Fans proved that cricket was indeed a uniting factor for all the citizens despite their ethnic or political differences.Fans queuing for tickets in Lahore Friday were excited about the revival of cricket in Pakistan. “It’s a sign of international cricket’s revival in our country,” said fan Uzair Ahmad.
He hoped a successful final would pave the way for more matches at home in next year’s edition.“This year the final has come to Pakistan, hopefully the next year the entire PSL can be held here,” he said.
Another young cricket fan, Muhammad Faizan Ali, said he was supporting Kar-achi Kings since the start of the league. While a student Usman Javed supporting Peshawar Zalmi.
“My father is also supporting Peshawar Zalmi while my mother and brother are supporting Karachi Kings,” he said.
On the other hand for Pakistani fans it mattered little who is coming for the final or not. “Whosoever plays we will support them,” Tasleem Naeem, a cricket lover, said, adding, “We want to show the world that we are sports-loving people and we want cricket back home on our own grounds.”Meanwhile, social media like Twitter, Facebook is burning hot with passionate status from supporters of the different teams.
