Woman hit to death

LAHORE: A 45-year-old woman was killed by a speeding van in the Sanda area on Sunday.

The woman, yet to be identified, was crossing a road when a rashly-driven van hit and killed her. Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man was found dead in the Gawalmandi police jurisdiction. Passersby spotted the body on Nisbat Road and informed police. Both bodies have been removed to mortuary.

PO arrested: National Highways and Motorway Police, Central Zone arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) and seized a pistol from his possession. The arrested PO was identified as Waseem of Khanewal . The local police claimed that he was wanted in many cases. The Motorway Police zonal commander appreciated the performance of patrolling officers.

Security for PSL teams: Punjab Safe Cities Authority has dedicated three teams comprising 75 police communication officers in total to monitor the travel routes of PSL teams with the help of its 300 cameras. The surveillance and monitoring would be reinforced with Mobile Command Centre and Drone-cams operations from the field. The Dolphin Squad and PRU would also perform duties in this regard.
