Effective system to run sports facilities top priority: Khanzada

LAHORE: Punjab Sports Minister Jahangir Khanzada presided over an important meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Saturday.

The meeting was convened to discuss the formation of well-organized and sustainable financial and administrative model to run the newly-build sports facilities across the province.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan, Director Sports Javed Rasheed Chohan, Director Project Management Unit Akram Soban, Deputy Secretary Planning Tehmina Habib, DSO Rauf Bajwa and other top officials.

Addressing the meeting, Punjab Sports Minister Jahangir Khanzada said: “Formulating an effective mechanism for our valuable sports facilities is our top priority so that we can operate our precious sports amenities according to international level”.

Khanzada said Punjab govt has constructed top level sports facilities across the province in a short period of time as per the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. “We want that our youth can take maximum benefit out of these sports facilities and for that purpose we are carving out such an appropriate system according to which these facilities will be operated in a professional manner”.

The Minister further said that the newly-developed sports facilities are no less than a blessing for the talented youth of Punjab.

Meanwhile, Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan also chaired two important meetings at National Hockey Stadium on Saturday. During the meetings, the progress of under-construction and near completion sports projects was reviewed at length.

Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan said sports culture will grow in the province after the completion of sports playfields in the province. “Punjab govt has allocated huge funds for the sports projects in the province.”
