Four of a family burnt alive in house fire

LAHORE: A couple and their two children were burnt alive when fire erupted at the servant quarter of a house in Wapda Town Friday night.
Police have shifted the bodies to morgue for autopsy and collected forensic evidence. Fire was controlled by the firefighters of Rescue 1122. The victims have been identified as Sarfraz, 30, his wife Saba, 26, kids Amna, 5, and Sher Ahmad, 2, residents of Green Town.
Police said the victims were living in the servant quarter of House # 17J-II, Wapda Town, owned by Shahid Naveed Khan. Rescuers said fire broke out in the servant quarter on the first floor of the house due to short circuiting. As a result, fire engulfed the entire room. The victims died due to suffocation. Further investigation is underway.
