NA told about steps taken for journalists’ security

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal informed the National Assembly on Friday that various measures have been taken for security of journalists.
In written reply to a question, the House was apprised that all the SHOs have been directed
to register the case upon receipt of any complaints by any journalists without any delay.
The SHOs have been directed to further instruct their subordinate staff to carry out the foot and mobile patrolling in the areas where, the offices of journalists, press clubs and residences are situated.
They were further directed to monitor the activities of suspicious persons loitering in the
vicinity of above mentioned areas and take legal action again such persons for any illegal activities if found involved.
