Pak soldier martyred in cross-border firing

LANDIKOTAL: A member of the security forces was killed when Afghanistan-based militants attacked a Pakistani border post in Tabay area of Landikotal tehsil in Khyber Agency, sources said on Thursday. The sources said the militants used heavy weapons and rockets to fire at the Pakistani security post from Afghanistan side of the border. A paramilitary soldier identified as Hanif was killed in the attack, the sources said, adding, the Pakistani security forces retaliated and fired at the militants' position in Afghanistan. Following the incident, the Pakistani forces beefed up the security along the border with Afghanistan.
