ISLAMABAD
Another child in Pakistan has fallen prey to polio, sources in the National Institute of Health (NIH) confirmed here on Saturday.
The latest victim of the disease is Rubina, four-and-a-half year-old daughter of Abdul Hameed, resident of village Abdullah Mallah, Union Council Mittoo Babar, tehsil Khairpur Nathan Shah, district Dadu. The child had onset of paralysis on February 19, 2015.
According to parental recall, the child had not received a single dose of oral polio vaccine. Sources shared that the community which the child belongs to consists of no more than 20 to 30 households.
