To kill dual nationality
This refers to the temporary relief provided by the Supreme Court to five senators whose notifications were initially withheld for allegedly possessing dual nationality. It is disappointing to note that such people deem our country to be an ideal place to hold public office but do not consider it to be a suitable place for their children to live in. If we want to witness progress in our country, we must take steps to ensure that all parliamentarians have an undivided loyalty to the country and are willing to contribute a great deal to the development and welfare of Pakistan.
All those who have previously held dual nationalities must take an oath that they will never seek any other nationality. Any person who holds a foreign passport should only be allowed to contest elections or hold public office after at least two years have elapsed from the date on which he/she revoked his/her foreign nationality. Enough damage has been done to the Quaid’s Pakistan through the greed of a few people with split loyalties. Corrective measures must now be taken to undo the damage.
