‘Six more metro train sets reach Karachi Port’

LAHORE: Shipment of all 27 train sets for Lahore Orange Line Metro concluded with the arrival of last consignment of six train sets at Karachi port here on Sunday.

Adviser to Chief Minister and Chairman of the steering committee for Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project (LOMTP) Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan told reporters during inspection of the ongoing civil work at elevated station near Lakshmi Chowk and underground station near GPO on Sunday. He said 21 train sets had already reached Lahore and parked at dept at Dera Gujjran and stabling yard at Ali Town, Rai Wind Road.

He assured that workfor construction of roof of the GPO station will be finished during the current week as more than 70 percent work in this connection had already been completed. Mall Road at this junction will be opened for traffic by the March 31 after finalising the relevant structures, he added.
