Six killed in Sukkur accidents

SUKKUR: Six people were killed on Thursday in different road accidents occurring on different places. A speedy truck hit a motorcycle on the Tando Jam Road, in which mother-in-law and daughter-in-law died, while a man survived.

Reports said that Momi, wife of Arjun Bheel (55) and her 18-year-old daughter-in-law Hawi, wife of Gleyo Bheel, died on the spot in the collision between motorcycle and truck at the Tando Jam Road, while Gleyo was injured.

Police shifted the dead and the injured to a local hospital. The victims were going to visit a doctor for the medical check-up as the wife of the injured was pregnant.

They were residents of village Rahu Sakh. The local police reached the spot and arrested the truck driver Habibullah Niazi and took his vehicle into their custody. Respectively, three residents of Punjab were killed in a road accident in Khairpur, while the two others were injured.

Reports said that at Hingorija near the National Highway in the limits of Khairpur, a Punjab-bound car from Karachi rammed into a tree due to over speeding, in which Akmal and Sajjid Ali were killed on the spot, while Nawab Ali succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.

The condition of the two injured namely Ghulam Abbas and Rustam is said to be stable now. The dead bodies were dispatched to Alipur area of Punjab via ambulances. Respectively, in Shikarpur in the collision of tractor and motorcycle, motorcyclist Shafi Muhammad Luhar was killed. Police arrested driver of the tractor, Jahangir Pathan.
