The British Council and the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) signed a Letter of Agreement (LoA) to launch a leadership programme for head teachers, education manager and senior administrators.
Under the LoA, all head teachers, education managers and senior administrators from federal school will be trained on leadership programme in 2015-16 through a series of 12 workshops.
The British Council’s leadership programme for head teachers and senior educators provides tailor-made training to turn effective managers into inspiring leaders. The leadership programme will benefit the head teachers in their daily school lives. Through training, exchanges and benchmarking, the programme will encourage head teachers to fine-tune their professional skills and practice them in school so it benefits the whole school. This training programme not only offers professional development to school leaders, but also equips them to strengthen the curriculum in their own school integrating an international dimension with a focus on education for global citizenship.
The ceremony was attended by Aamir Ashraf Khawaja, Director General, Federal Directorate of Education, Jim Booth, Director Programmes British Council and Rebecca Picton, Regional School Programme Manager, British Council.
Addressing at the ceremony Jim Booth said “Through a range of opportunities for educational and personal development available to educators and young people, the British Council is playing its role in strengthening Pakistani society as well as bringing together people from both countries. Our work in education focuses on internationalising education sharing the UK’s expertise and innovation around the world, and bringing education partners together.”
Aamir Ashraf Khawaja highlighted the strong partnership that exists between the FDE and the British Council. He thanked British Council for their continual support to improve the education in ICT.
He also said “both FDE and the British Council have been working for over a decade under different initiatives. Teachers and Head teachers have enormously benefited from the training workshops organised by the British Council. Mutual collaboration of British Council and FDE will continue in the future to launch more collaborative projects in the future.”
