Preventive measures urged to avoid kidney diseases

FAISALABAD: The people should take preventive measures to avoid kidney diseases.
It was said by PMC Principal Dr Muhammad Ali while addressing a walk organised in connection with the World Day against the Kidney Diseases here on Wednesday. The walk started from the DHQ Hospital and after passing through various roads ended at the same place. Dr Muhammad Ali said that preventive measures and awareness could help combat kidney diseases, adding that there was a dire need of public awareness in this regard. He told that such diseases were rising alarmingly in Pakistan due to lack of information about the kidney diseases. He said that blood pressure and sugar were primary causes of kidney diseases. DHQ Hospital MS Dr Abdul Rauf said that the DHQ Hospital’s management was giving special focus on kidney diseases and specialist doctors were available for treatment. He said that free dialysis facility was being provided already to the kidney patients. DHQ Hospital’s AMS Dr Habib Butter said that a 100-bed separate kidney centre would be made operational at the DHQ Hospital soon.
