KARACHI: Per capita paper consumption in Pakistan for paper products is still very low and it is still an emerging market for Japanese paper brands, which are compatible in the international market, an official said.
Addressing a ceremony, Naheed Memon, chairperson of the Sindh Board of Investment, said, “SBI will fully support the printing industry representatives in their projects and new initiatives.” The ceremony was organized by Dawn Paper Mart in collaboration with PAPGAI and Badar Expo Solutions.
Sheikh Shehzad Iqbal, managing director of Dawn Paper Mart, in his address of welcome said that his company will provide full support to the Japanese paper in Pakistani market with price compatibility and quality to support printing industry.
Japanese representatives said, “We found Pakistan as an important market for our paper and pulp business. They also showed their interest in exploring new business and investment opportunities in this sector.”
Salman Haroon from PAPGAI highlighted the efforts made for the ongoing skill development programmes for young generation in support of STEVTA, Amantech, NAVTTC, MITI and GIZ.
