LANDIKOTAL: A soldier of the Afghan National Army (ANA), who underwent appendix surgery at the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Bajaur Agency, Tuesday left for his homeland via Torkham border.
It may be recalled that ANA soldier Havaldar Mohammad Bashir was performing duty at a checkpost near the Pakistani border in Afghanistan’s Kunar province when he developed pain.Subsequently, he was brought to Khar, the headquarters of Bajaur Agency, where he underwent surgery for appendix. Major Feroz of the Pak Army and political officials at the Torkham border handed over him to the Afghan border officials.
Afghan border officials lauded the Pakistani authorities for providing free medical treatment to the ANA soldier. A large number of people and media men both from Afghanistan and Pakistan were present when the Afghan officials received the ANA soldier at Torkham border.
Mohammad Bashir on the occasion said that he was thankful to Pakistani government for saving his life.
